THE ATHLETICOS

Activities

  • This year’s Sports Club sessions kicked off with much anticipation and enthusiasm among the students. On the first day, club teachers handed over badges to the elected office bearers. New members from the junior classes were given a warm welcome. We were told about the importance of sports and games, and basic rules-regulations. On our next club day, all the members warmed up as our teachers guided us through basic exercise drills to boost our agility and fitness. The boys engaged in a thrilling football match while the girls played badminton with the newly bought sports equipment. After the midterm examinations-break, we engaged in some awesome indoor games- Chess, Chinese checkers, Carrom for instance. On the third day, and last day before vacations, we were divided into groups and trained volleyball, to improve our in-game skills and focused on our respective positions to put up an efficient and good game. As we approached the winter season, all the members focused on improving their fitness and agility, followed by trying out new sports like Handball and Kho-Kho.
  • On the last club day of this session, all members were given grades based on their skillset and improvement made throughout the year. We eagerly look forward to our upcoming club days in the next session. Learning a new sport, facing challenges are quite exciting and we come across essential life skills, learn discipline while playing. It boosts physicality as well as refreshes our minds.
Literary Club

SCRIPTOSPHERE

Activities

  • The name of the club, logo and the office bearers were decided.
  • Several topics were given on which one-line stories were written.
  • Individual topics were given and students were asked to speak on the topics for 2 minutes to practice more of public speaking. The 3 p’s- prepare, practice and perform were explained to us.
  • The performers on another day made the audience burst into laughter by their wonderful impersonations of Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt and Mike Teavee from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
  • Another day was involved in an intensive planning of a wall magazine on various topics like “colours” and “letters to imaginary people”. The pieces were collected and the wall magazines were started.
  • The students were asked to write short poems based on various topics such as friendship, festival, classroom and various others.
  • On the last club day we wrote an essay on why we chose literary club. We plan to continue our literary activities in the upcoming session with the same ardour.

Quiz Club

QUIZZY BRAINIACS

Activities

  • The Quiz Club aims to motivate, inspire and encourage students in their quest for knowledge with the objective of instilling students with wisdom and compassion in order to make them smart citizens which in the long run helps in overall development of the pupil.
  • The Club activities began by selection of Office-bearers and structuring the events to be carried out for the rest of the year. Thereafter club badges were distributed to its members. The activities undertaken in this academic year included knowledge about different states of India (in which students of the club used props to represent the uniqueness of each state), trivia about history of India (its mythological heroes), interesting facts about food around the world, and recent advancements in science.
  • The office holders of the Club undertook their responsibilities diligently and the members came up with innovative quiz themes to make the club days interesting and interactive. The club members arranged a ‘photo-walk’ session where they brought a camera and under supervision took pictures in and around the school and asked each other about where it was taken by partially revealing the pictures to the viewers. This was done by the club to celebrate the silver jubilee of the school in their own way. Intra school quiz competitions were arranged along with distribution of tokens as a mark of appreciation.
  • The Club aims to prepare its members to participate in intra-school, inter-school and regional quiz competitions in the upcoming year.
Puzzle Club

Mind-Bogglers’ Club

Activities

  • Selection of Office Bearers and brief introduction of club activities.
  • Different types of puzzles were made and solved by the students in brain storming process.
  • Charts and Diagrams on puzzles relating to numbers, pictures, logical reasoning were prepared and displayed in classrooms to be solved by the junior students.
  • Block puzzles were made.
  • Mathematical puzzles were constructed and solved by the students.
  • Puzzles were solved on famous literary personalities and their contribution.
Nature Club

Green Army

Activities

  • The new term commenced with the enthusiasts of the Nature Club, planting various brightly coloured flowering plants on the very first club day. The garden was cleared of weeds and a variety of saplings were also planted. There were also certain saplings which later proved to be beneficial for the Biology practicals. The club office bearers were also recruited by the teachers on the same day.
  • The members actively participated in every club activity. Plastic bottles were brought to school which were cut and then saplings were planted within them. The bottles were tied with a rope and hung near the Teacher's staff room.
  • The students made several wall magazines and posters to spread the message of maintaining a non-polluting and eco-friendly environment. Pot paintings were also done.
  • The Nature Club members even conducted a morning assembly at the very beginning of the session in which a small skit was also played.
  • All the members of the Nature Club have given their best to keep our school clean and green in order to Increase its aesthetic value. All of us have also tried our best to convey to our school mates to not only keep our school clean but also their own localities
Cultural Club

NIRVANA

Activities

  • It started out by selecting the office bearers and planning the activities to be undertaken by the club this session.
  • The club logo was designed which resulted in beautiful batches that the students proudly portray
  • The students diligently participated on ‘Independence Day. ‘Teachers’ Day’, and ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ undertaking huge responsibilities and giving everyone mesmerizing performances.
  • The members once conducted the morning assembly this session bringing about joyful tunes, powerful recitations and a short skit.
  • Two of the club days were fun-filled where the students tried mashup of melodies of different eras and genre and some trending dance routines were practiced.
  • The members were also engaged in the preparation of the Annual Concert on the occasion of the school’s ‘Silver Jubilee Celebration’ and exhibited a vibrant showcase.
